Title: Experiential and Recreational Therapeutic Practices

Prerequisites: PSY 1010 or SW 1010

Description: This course explores the application of psychological and therapeutic practices to experiential and recreational practices. Students examine theories of motivation, behavior change, and therapeutic engagement within experiential settings, including nature-based activities, adventure modalities, drama therapy, play or animal assisted therapy, and reflective practice. Emphasis is placed on providing students hands-on opportunities in experiential and recreational activities that can be then used to assist in clinical settings. This course is cross-listed as PSY 2660.

This course is part of the Behavioral Health Technician Certificate Program.
